Only 1960km to go
It’s a new year and like an awful lot of folk who overindulged over the festive period, we returned to work with only one thing on our minds – a health kick. Talk in the office quite quickly turned to fitness goals for 2020 and, before we knew it, we were contemplating a Roebuck team challenge. Various madcap ideas were thrown into the hat; the Oxfam Trailwalker (a 100km trek across the South Downs) and the more vinous related Médoc Marathon (with its tempting pit-stops for wine, steak and ice cream). But we needed a challenge that we could train for individually, would fit into busy family life and most importantly of all, be enjoyable. And so Project 2020 was born!
We’ve set ourselves a target to run 2020km in total this year as a team of four – James, Jake, Sue and Dani. We’re using Strava to track our performance and Spotify to keep us motivated. You can follow our progress (or lack of!) on Instagram @roebuckestates and Strava – Roebuck Runners. We’re ready to get fit, get fast and have buckets of fun (and a little fizz) along the way.
