A remarkable result for our debut rosé
We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded another fantastic accolade – this time, the prestigious ‘English Vintage Sparkling Rosé Trophy‘ for our 2016 Rosé de Noirs at the International Wine Challenge. Our debut sparkling rosé scored 95 out of 100 points and has also been given a Gold medal.
Now in its 38th year, the International Wine Challenge is recognised as the world’s most rigorous, impartial and influential wine competition. Thousands of wines from over 50 countries are judged by a highly experienced panel of experts including Masters of Wine, senior wine buyers and specialist wine writers. Every wine is tasted ‘blind’ and assessed individually for its faithfulness to style, region and vintage. Only an elite set of the finest wines are awarded the coveted title of a Trophy.
Out of an impressive number of wines tasted from around the world, only 82 wines were given a highly sought-after trophy at this year’s competition. The IWC Judges described our 2016 Rosé de Noirs as:
“Good light pale pink in colour with a fine sappy red fruit nose. On the palate tremendous, fragrant, focused and intense, floral notes, violets, rich red cherry. Well balanced with good length.”
As ever, we are extremely grateful for the terrific team behind our wines – it’s all thanks to their hard work and tireless dedication that we have received this spectacular accolade. For those wishing to celebrate life slowly returning to ‘normal’, and with summer just around the corner, our 2016 Rosé de Noirs is available to buy through our online shop.
