THE STORY BEHIND NO.19
Our Roebuck Rare Expressions No.19 is the debut release in the range and a wonderful expression of a particular place – Block 19 at our Roman Villa vineyard in West Sussex.
Nestled in a blissfully serene valley at the foothills of the South Downs lies our Roman Villa vineyard, where the fruit for this wine was grown. Planted exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes from Burgundian clone 667, the vines at Block 19 benefit from gentle south facing slopes, optimal sunshine all year round and the loam/clay rich soils give great structure and depth to our sparkling wines.
THE LABEL
At this very special place, our vineyard team work in harmony with nature and enjoy the delightful sights and sounds of deer, hares, birds and so much more. Sitting beautifully in the landscape of our vineyard lies Bignor Roman Villa, one of the most impressive Roman sites in West Sussex.
Inspired by this picture-perfect location and the exquisite mosaics found here, our intricate label tells a story of craftmanship, terroir and working as one with nature.

Only the very best parcels of the utmost quality are selected for this collection. Each Expression has its own unique number relating to its story and origin.
Only 2,500 bottles of this exceptional sparkling wine have been produced and each bottle has an individual bottling number, highlighting just how rare it is and making every bottle special.
WINEMAKING
Carefully selected bunches of Pinot Noir were harvested by hand and gently whole bunch pressed.
Produced according to the traditional method, a small proportion of this wine was partially fermented in aged Burgundian oak barrels for approximately three months followed by a generous lees-ageing in bottle for 84 months.
TASTING NOTES
Our Roebuck Rare Expressions No.19 bears the hallmark of our signature style – structure, depth of flavour and layers of complexity, enhanced by a long period of ageing in bottle.
A rich, yet beautifully balanced wine, deep golden in colour. Delightful notes of ripe peach, baked apples and honeysuckle are layered with hints of toasted almonds, characteristic of a generous bottle-ageing. Delicate bubbles, and a silky texture lead to a long-lingering finish.
